Return to West Wales

by matgibbs

A long time ago, I used to spend every Summer on the west coast of Wales. Like with many childhood memories, sometimes it’s not a good idea to go back in case the reality doesn’t match the memories. Nevertheless, sometimes it can be a lot of fun, especially if like for me there’s a sense of going home too. I also got the chance to introduce my wife to some wonderful places and people!

There was a good reason for being there – my cousin was getting married, and as we don’t have big family meetups all that often, it was great to see them all.

Our visited took in two distinct parts of Wales which I’ve written about in more detail elsewhere, but you can enjoy some pictures here:

Rhossili Bay on the Gower

We started our trip on the Gower, and having most of the day to spare we took a drive to Rhossili Bay and walked to Worms Head. Luckily we managed to avoid the downpours, and ducked inside a lovely cafe just in time!

And then we found our way to Llangranog

We did have some blue sky as you can see (albeit accompanied with a fair breeze from the west), but luckily the rain held off for most of the time. We drove a fair bit, ate quite a bit, drunk a fair bit of beer and a huge amount of tea. Our visit to Llangranog was a highlight, and you can read all about that here
